Greetings Cali Friends,

Just wanted to let you know Tammy had her plastic surgery done yesterday in Mexico, and she is doing great per her husband.  She was in surgery 10 hrs and she is recovering great.  She is going to be a new Tammy, we're not going to recognize her!

Please leave a note on her surgery page, cuz she will be posting before too long as she has her computer with her.

Hi my name is Tina and I will be having surgery Dec. 22 RNY.  I was wondering why she had it done in Mexico??  Is it because of the expense?  I would like it if you would keep me posted?
Thanks, Tina

Tina,

Tammy had her VSG  and now her plastic surgery done there and I know she has done a TON of research prior to having both done. You can read her blog for more info, and she did do a post on her new blog about 5 pages back on the Cali forum.

Congrats on  your upcoming surgery too!  How exciting, right in time for the New Year!

My cousin has VGS in Mexico and then 2 months maybe 3 months ago went to Mexico again, this time over the Tijuana border and had all her plastics done.  She looks great, and said tat she would go back and have all her surgeries in Mexico again.  They have taken really good care of her when she was there for both surgeries, in two different places. Yes, one of the reasons she went to Mexico was the price, they are a lot cheaper than the US.  If you want more info let me know I will hook you up with her and you can talk to her direct.

Good Luck on your sugery.

Hi Tina, I started my research for plastics on the plastics board here on OH. My number one requirement was quality of work. There were a few PS here in the states that I was considering but when it came down to the cost there was no way I could afford it. There were many posters talking about plastics in Mexico. I rememver the awesome care I received when I got my WLS there so I had an open mind. I started researching a Dr Sauceda. I saw many before/after pictures along with postop testimonies. In the world of WLS patient reconstructive surgeries..to me he seems right up there with the best. He personally picks you up at the airport and checks you into the Hampton Inns. You have surgery in his clinic and recover there for 3 days with 24/7 nurses. We then go back to the Hampton Inn for the remaining 12 days. Dr S personally comes by once a day and a nurse comes by every morning to help shower and change dressings. I have to say we wouldn't find this care in the US having a Dr do home checks every day without a fee. If you get 6k worth of work the hotel, food while in clinic are free and your airfare is reimbursed. But back to quality. If you go to the PS site you will see there are quite a few peep from OH that have gone or are going to him soon. Right now, I have 2 surgery sisters here at the hotel with me and heather's surgery is later this morning. Check it out...I wouldn't have gone to a foreign country unless I was extremely comfortable in the Dr's qualities. Sorry this was long :-)

Thanks for posting this Barb! Hope you all had a blast at the potluck. Things went well with no complications but I am in some major soreness pain. I can tell you lipo will kick anyone's butt and talking about butts...oh lordy....I had the fat grafting to my booty where they take my fat and put it back in to give my flat butt a little curvier one. WOW..it hurts and to boot it feels lke I am sitting on 2 squasy softballs. You can't feel it if you grabbed my tush but I feel it when I sit down. Dr says they will blend in...hummm. Otherwise I feel like an oompa loompa right now with all the swelling. It will all go down I am sure....but when :-). Thanks again
